cursor keyboard touch pad very sensitive and cursor bounces around
just got a new compac laptop yesterday and the keyboard/touch pad is very
sensitive. I can be typing along and all of a sudden a new windows pops open
or my cursor jumps to another spot on the page as I am typing.
I remember when we bought our other laptop earlier in the year I had to down
load a patch to fix this but I can't find the patch anywhere on the vista
website. Any suggestions?

You can turn the touchpad off while you are typing, or, assuming you may be
using a mouse (plugged into a usb port maybe), you can just leave it off
altogether, which is what I do at home.

ps my touchpad on/off control is on one of the f(function keys) along the
top of my keyboard. Do you have that too?

I got a new laptop with Vista...the cursor went everywhere...you could not type in a reply in email or any word doc, anything without it going all over the place. I was about ready to throw it out the window.
This is what I finally figured out.
Go to Start and type Mouse in search block, then at top of the page click on MOUSE under System:
MOUSE PROPERTIES WILL COME UP
Under TAPPING CLICK TURN OFF WHEN TYPING
You can also adjust the speed that your cursor moves under POINTER OPTIONS
This fixed my problem, hope it helps you.
