Default Changing operation system

Hello!

I have Vista Home Edition on my laptop (Acer Aspire 5630) and I want to go
back to XP. Can I install the XP? I am not professional but I really had
enough from Vista and I am going mad every day to use it.
I really hope I can install XP on my laptop and forget Vista.

Thank you for any help!

You would need to give Acer support a call and ask them
for advice. New computers that are optimized for Windows
Vista may not have Windows XP hardware drivers downloads
necessary for notebook PCs.

If drivers for all your hardware are available, yes you can. But note
that if you do, your vendor may consider that it voids your warranty.

Personally I wouldn't, but it's your choice. As with anything new, it
takes time to learn and understand how to use it. My view is that it's
worth the effort, but again, it's your computer and your choice.

Eniko,

Did you go through the Win98 to WinXP conversion? In my opinion that was
more traumatic.
You will need a retail version of XP if you proceed with the regression.

What is really interesting with all of these posts regarding the desire to
return to XP, is simply this. I am one of the house call volunteers with our
computer club. Our members all live in an age restricted community. That is
age 55+. So far, none have requested assistance in returning to XP. Some
have asked for our tutor to pay a visit. Our formal classes start next
month.

I applaud our "older" members of the population. They take the change in
stride! Power to the old f*rts!

My dad will be 80 in April, and he has a desktop with XP ,and a spankin new
Insperon laptop with Vista Home Premium. Hes a writer (and plays a few
games), and uses the laptop when he's on the road. He really loves the
laptop and vista. I suspect he'll bug me to get Vista for his desktop in the
near future.
