Default CD Rom Drives

Hi All
Anyone ever heard of or come up with a solution how to stop the cdrom drive
trays from opening every time you click on that drive in explorer ?
That really sucks in my opinion . If I shut down my pc without noticeing
that it stays open and subject to real damage.
Must be a work around for that by now. Have had this problem ever since I
have had vista when it came out.
Have had Vista on 4 different computers and have had the same problem , so I
wouldn't say it is a hardware issue.
thanks

Sounds like it may be a driver issue.

Are the 4 computers the same type?

May want to check the manufacturer's page. Doesn't
do it on mine.

Thanks Curt & Mick
I have had different brand dvdrom drives and it has done it on all .
I now have 2 HP dvd-RW drives and it does it to both every time I click on
either drive.
I have a home built pc
Intell MOBO DP35DP , Intel core 2 duo E6750 , 2 gig of ram.
Other then that I have no problems with Vista Home Premiun . (well almost no
problems )
I have yet to see it be as fast as XP was on my pc , doing anything.
Looking for more info about those cdrom drives.
Thanks
