I'd been running Vista fine for about a week and a half on a new Dell
Dimension E520 desktop. This morning, I woke up to a System Recovery screen.
I've been unable to get Vista start. When I try to run Startup Repair, I get
the error:
"The partition table does not have a valid System Partition."
Also, when trying to select an operating system to repair, I cannot see
Windows Vista (nor can I find the driver).
Sounds like the hard drive is damaged. You will need to contact Dell as the
system is probably still under warranty and this work will require a
technician unless you are familiar with replacing drives and have recovery
media that came separately on a CD.
