Default Backup computer in compressed Disk

Why the image creation don't like compressed disk?
usually i use Acronis True image and no trouble with compressed disks
is Acronis stronger/safer than MS ?

Pls don't tell me that is an By Design issue
the by design excuse shows an inability to solve real problems

Default Re: Backup computer in compressed Disk

The limitation is related to how Vista saves the incremental "shadow copies"
of subsequent Complete PC Backups. These save you a lot of disk space (they
are much smaller than a full .vhd image) but the downside is that storing
these on a compressed volume does not work well and is therefore not
supported. This has to do with the way in which the VSS (volume shadowcopy)
service works--basically on the incremental backup, any compression would
lead to huge differences between the current vhd and the one on the shadow
copy, and we will be deleting old shadow copies at much higher rate.

How does Acronis save images? Are they complete images? If so, then they
would not be affected by the compression setting on the disk.
