Default Audio Issue. WinVista 32bit

I can hear audio using winamp and windows media player, but I can't hear
audio for windows sounds such as the bootup sound. I have right clicked the
speaker icon in the task bar and verified 'play windows startup sound is
checked'.

Also I can't hear audio on youtube either. I have also verified shockwave
player is installed and working correctly.

Please help.

Thanks

Just because you have an "Audio Issue", you could give a bit more
information on it... Or do you also have a typing issue?
