I have the same keyboard and mouse combo and I had the same issues constantly
until I purchased a shielded USB extention cable and brought the USB
transciever up on top of the desk near the keyboard. It seems to me the range
of the bluetooth signal doesn't allow it to go through the wood of my desk.

Hope this helps.

No such problems with the MS Explorer Mouse and Keyboard Elite and my PC
(with the tranciever attached) is some 3m (10 feet) from my devices.

there is a high end technology that uses a wire instead of a wireless
signal...

far better and has zero radiation.

my receiver is approx 6 inches in front of the keyboard on the desktop.
am using the standard cable that came with the receiver,.
does not appear to be replaceable.
