Default Aero has stopped working

I'm running home premium and aero was working beautifully, then all of a
sudden, it has stopped.

I go to 'Personalize/windows color and Appearance, select color scheme and
it's set on Vista Basic, I change it back to aero, apply it and when I come
back in, it set to basic again.

Any ideas???

Hi LS--

Try all 3 steps:

1) Rt. Click Desktop>Personalize>Windows Color and Appearance>Enable
Transparence>Click Hyperlink>Open Clasic Appearance>Color Scheme>Windows
Aero>Apply.

This should work.

Additional Steps if Needed:

2) Regedit:

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\DWM\Composition

Value Data: 1

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\DWM\CompositionPol icy

Value Data: 2

3) Click on the Start Menu and search "cmd". When it finds it, hold down
Ctrl&Shift and press Enter to enter Command Prompt as Administrator.

type the following:

net stop uxsms

(press Enter)

net start uxsms

(press Enter)

Good luck,

CH
