Default Adobe reader 7 compatability issues

I have set my computer to download regular updates from Microsoft. I have
Adobe reader 7, and Microsoft VIsta all new w/i the last 6 months. This week,
after new updates were installed, everytime I try to open a file or document,
the message comes up that "Adobe has compatability issues with this version
of Windows" and gives the option to search for a solution (unavailable) or
run program. How do I fix this, please?

Adobe Reader is up to 8.1.1 now. Uninstall the version you have and go
to Adobe's website to get the latest version.

Thanks, will try that--have never uninstalled anything before so always a

Maybe it would be worth a try to
install Adobe Reader 8.1.1

Absolutely! Acrobat Reader has gotten sooo big and sooo slow that I can't
stand having it around.

Unless you have an app written specifically for AR, delete it with extreme
predigis.

(And many apps say they 'require' AR, but 99.5% don't really.)
