IMO Crucial.com is the best place to find out 1) what type of memory
your motherboard takes; 2) how much memory you can put in; 3) and the
price and quality is excellent. You don't ever want to skimp on memory.
Go to www.crucial.com and you'll see the memory selector. Here's a
direct link to the answer for a Dell Inspiron 530 Desktop:

How many slots do you have left available?
Do you want to keep Dual-Channel enabled? If so you might have to match the
ram you are already running.
As far as I know, 1 GB of DDR2 ram is very inexpensive now a days.
What is your current ram frequency, 667MHz or 800MHz ?
There is no such thing as a 4.4GB processor. Are you saying that you are
over clocking your processor and running it at 4.4GHz ?
Or perhaps you miss typed and meant 2.4GHz .
Oh, I see that would be the E4600 Intel processor.
You want a good deal. I remember when ram cost about $35 a MB, that would
put a 1GB amount at about $35,000.
And people are complaining that Vista needs more ram so they have to fork
over a few bucks to get an extra Gig of ram.

you need to make sure you match PERFECTLY the memory you already have.
check to see what brand, size and speed of memory you currently have and buy patched items.

I have a Intel Core2 Duo processor E4500 (2.20GHz,800FSB) w/Dual Core
Technology and cache. And 2GB DDR2 SDRAM @ 667MHz.
I have 2 slots open. The frequency is 667 MHz.
My RAM is 1GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM 667MHz 2 DIMMS
crucial.com have this RAM & $28.33 each. Should I get 1 or 2?
I am somewhat a novice at this.
Thank You and the others for their responce.
