Acer Empowering Technology error in Vista Business

Howdy,

I keep getting this pesky error when I start up my Vista business
saying that Acer Empowering Technology causes an access violation in
module 'ServiceControl.dll'.
I've reinstalled the lot, still keeps coming up.
Removing the Acer Empowering Technology causes an error about
admtray.exe, saying I need to reinstall.
After searching Google, the Acer website and various groups, I thought
it may be a good idea to just ask here. Anyone have an idea on how to
solve this?

Is this an upgrade from XP or did the system come with Vista?
