access denied on some websites

I get the following on my laptop when I try to access a lot of sites:
'Access Denied (policy_denied)
Your system policy has denied access to the requested URL.
For assistance, contact your network support team.
I am the only user of this machine, and the problem is with all browsers.
I can't even get access to this site! (I'm on the work PC)
I can't even get onto my college site! It just keeps loading.

Hopefully it's just a permissions issue or a firewall settings issue.
I'm running NOD32, but that shouldn't be the problem, I've turned off it's
internet monitoring.

Try turning the firewall and see if the problem presists.

Messed around with the firewall for a while, but it's back up now, with no
problems.
