I just re-installed Vista 32 bit and re-activated with great difficulty. Now
I cannot run chkdsk in a command prompt window. Also I cannot access
anything on my 2nd hard drive that was for RAID configuration which I removed
last week.
Right click the command prompt (CMD) and use 'run as administrator'. Right
click the desired folders on the second drive and go to properties. On the
security tab, click on advanced and change the ownership to your own
account.

It worked but I did it using a slightly different method. I opened the
properties for the entire disk and gave myself full authority...almost. I
still am denied access to some files (boot, bootmgr, etc.). I do not want to
open those various files but I wonder if a technical support person might
want to see inside of them? How would access be obtained?
Also, chkdsk ran on drive D: and claimed to have found and fixed errors
(details of which I copied to a text file) but I ran it again and the
identical errors were still there. They are 8 indexes and the same as
orphans. They are also the exact same ones that come up when chkdsk runs on
my C: drive. Is there someplace where I can submit these 'details'? Or...
how would I look up a KB for this?

Does anyone know how to fix "insufficient privileges" in Windows Vista. I
have a program I am trying to uninstall and although it is my computer only
and I have admin privileges - I cannot repair, change nor uninstall this
program.

There is a great utility from Microsoft (free) at this site that will enable
you to remove programs that will not restore using the ontrol Panel. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301
