Default Windows is unable to find system volume... (Raid & no Raid)

When i try to install vista x64 ultimate,
I can't choose which dive to install it on, but Vista sees that they
exist
i get the message: unable to find system volume...

Hardware:
MB: Abit IN9 32x-max
CPU: e6850
HDD1:maxtor SATAII 300GB
HDD2:maxtor SATAII 300GB
HDD3:seagate SATAII 500GB
HDD4:seagate SATAII 500GB

I've tried enabling/disabling RAID.

going in debug mode.

unplugging all but one drive.

These are new drives.

if you need more info, just ask.

thanks for the help.

Hi tyeh26,

You need to provide storage drivers for your motherboard at the appropriate
stage during setup. I enclose a link to the download page for your
motherboard.

Hi tyeh26,

Earlier versions of Windows could only access files on a floppy during
setup, but Vista is capable of accessing them on other media as well, so I
would recommend that you use a USB drive. Whether you need the NvRaid or
Sil3132 RAID versions depends on your chipset. Check your motherboard manual.
To be on the safe side, download both onto your USB drive. I did forget to
mention that the files are zipped, and will probably need expanding. If they
do, then make sure that you keep the folder structure that is created when
unzipping.
