I just install Windows vista ultimate 32-bit on my mac. Everything is
stetched because my computer is widescreen (1680x1050 or 16:10). How do I set
it to the right resolution?

Yes, but the highest it will let me select is 1400x1050, which is standard
ratio. My display is widescreen 1680x1050. How can I get it to change the
ratio?

Have you downloaded the most recent drivers for your video card? You might
give that a try.

I don't believe that is the problem, because the operating system doesn't
seem to understand that my monitor is widescreen. The Y-axis actually has the
right amount of pixels, but the X-axis is stretched. It is the highest
resolution that could fit in my display... in standard definition.

Sometimes, the default Microsoft drivers aren't enough. What kind of video
card are you using (ATI/NVIDIA/Other?). You can go directly to the website
of that manufacturer and download drivers which allow a lot more
customization on resolution, colors, etc.

If you go to where you change the background/wallpaper, there are options
for how the background is sized. Try all of the options until you find the
one that looks right..
