Default What is "Msdia80.dll" doing in the root of my storage disks?

I am running Vista x64 Ultimate & other apps on a 150GB WD Raptor.
Storage is taken care of by 2 x 1TB WD SATA2 drives in a RAID 0 setup.

I noticed that the file "msdia80.dll" is installed in the root of the
storage drives.

I googled around a little and found this MS Hotfix: 'FIX: The
Msdia80.dll file is installed in the root folder of the boot drive when
you install the Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package by using
the Vcredist_x64.exe file or the Vcredist_ia64.exe file'
(http://support.microsoft.com/kb/927665) that addresses a similiar, but
not exactly the same problem. In that fix they want you to move the
wayward "msdia80.dll" into the path \Program Files\Common
Files\Microsoft Shared\VC\ . My problem is that I have all of that path
with the exception of the \VC subdirectory.

Can I manually create the subdirectory, move the file there and procede
with the MS fix?

I would leave the file where it is but I am thinking about uncoupling
the two 1TB drives from their RAID 0 and instead using them as discrete
drives. I suspect there will be a little collateral damage to any files
on these drives when I uncouple but the machine is brand new and there
isn't much stored there yet.

Thanks for any insights or suggestions that anyone wants to throw my
way.
