Default Vists SP1 Error

Hi. Trying to install Vista SP1 on a Windows Vista Home laptop [Toshiba
Satellite A200 series]. Now this was tried through the Automatic Updates as
well as a downloaded SP1 installer.

It goes through the copying process and then goes through the first of 3
steps. Somewhere near the end of step 1 it comes back with the message "Some
changes could not be completed. Reverting changes....." It doesn't give any
explanation. It'll try again and fail.

Now aside from the fact that the BIOS needs to be updated, what may cause
this? Any logs to look at?

It isn't my laptop. So I don't have the specs.

After seeing the Toshiba site for support, I'm ruling them out if I ever buy
a laptop. I use to like them but this is really bad when they give no Vista
SP1 support.

Thanks

I got it going [with a bit of free help from MS support].

Did a clean boot with MSConfig. Problem may have been with BitDefender v10
which isn't compatible with SP1.
