Vista wont boot anymore, Recovery Console locks up
OK, here we go. Here are the PC specs
ga-p35-ds3p
2.66ghz quad core
8gm ram - (4) Samsung pc2-5300 2gb dimms - I've even tried just using
(2) dimms
7950 gtoc geforce
raid 0 on (2) 200gb drives
About a month ago, while everything was running fine, the power went
out in the neighborhood, which caused the PC to shut off. Upon the
return of power, the PC wouldn't load Vista. It would get to the loading
screen with the green scroll bar, but it would immediately restart.
After spending some time fiddling around, I gave up, and reinstalled the
OS. Again, will everything was running smooth, the PC locked up on an
install of a update, if I remember correctly, .net framework update that
was required for my c&c3 install.
After giving it about an hour to resolve itself, I restarted the PC
using the reset button. Now, I am in the same spot, with the green
scrolling loading screen, but this time, it doesn't reboot anymore. It
just scrolls for hours (I actually left it at that overnight, thinking
it needed more time). I tried booting to the Vista install disc,
choosing repair, but it doesn't find my installed OS, mainly due to
driver issues for the raid controller. I have tried using a jump drive
with the latest drivers off of the website and the original cd that came
with the mobo. Once I click on load drivers, it scans for a bit, and
locks up for a bit, then it doesnt find the OS, and I am back to the
load drivers screen again.
So after a few hours of frustration, I gave up and considered
reinstalling the OS. So I booted to the Vista install disc and chose
install, chose the drivers again, and it continuously scans as it
supposedly adds the drivers. Which again, no hard drive found, gives an
error or "The installation has failed." for the load drivers portion.
I would like to avoid another reinstall, since I forgot to backup my
Outlook PST, which I can't even access the drives off of the PC due to
the raid configuration.

Also, I forgot to mention, I'm dealing with Vista Ultimate 64bit. And
yes, XP 64bit installed fine prior to my upgrade, and XP install sees my
raid controller.
