I have just baught the Vista Ultimate Upgrade for my new system I am putting
together. I baught a new E6600 processor and would like to try my first
64bit operating system. My question is if I dont like 64bit can I format and
do a install of the 32bit all with the same key license? I was reading a
minute ago that its possible with the retail full but is it possible with the
retail upgrade?
Yes, you can install either with your Product Key. I would recommend that
you do not activate the 64-bit installation unless you are sure you are
going to keep it. This way if you revert to 32-bit, you can activate over
the 'net rather than the lengthier phone call.
By the by, the upgrade version needs to start from within an existing,
qualifying OS. So, you'll either have to install XP/2000 first, or install
Vista w/o the Product Key as a clean install, then again with it as an
upgrade.
