Vista Home Prem not compatible with Nvidia GeForce 8800GT???

My upgrade installation keeps hanging, so I ran the MS Upgrade Advisor. It's
telling me that my GeForce 8800GT video card is incompatible with Vista.
However, it's one of the most popular cards out there, with thousands of
users, so I find that hard to believe. Moreover, the manufacturer's website
states repeatedly that it is Vista-compatible. What's going on? And more
importantly, how can I fix it?

Uninstall the NVIDIA software, reboot your computer,
allow Windows to install the standard VGA drivers, then
perform an upgrade to Vista.
