Default Vista does not recognize MegaRaid Elite 1600 SCSI Controller

I am trying to clean insall Vista.

Vista cannot seem to find the SCSI controller in my system. Even though the
Vista HCL says it is supported.

This is a LSI MegaRAID Elite 1600 controller with the latest BIOS. I could
load the driver (select it myself) from the drivers supplied with Vista if
Microsoft would tell me where on the installation media they reside.

Hi, If you look on the winqual site, there is no green tick next to the
"x86 Driver available as part of Windows Vista", ie, the drivers are not on
the install DVD. You will need to obtain the drivers from the manufacturer,
and supply them either on floppy disk, USB stick, or another CD and load
them when you see the 'Load Drivers' button during Vista install.

Hi Jane, I think you missed the point of supplying the URL. Perhaps your
batteries need to be charged or you should have waited until your braincell
returned from vacation.

Look DIRECTLY above the green checkmark you sol politely pointed ot and you
will find the following....

Windows Vista Hardware Compatibility List

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

MegaRAID Elite 1600
by LSI Corporation

Windows Vista
Driver Availability: x86 Driver available as part of Windows Vista
x64 Driver available as part of Windows Vista

Thanks but no cigar

Jane, I understand what you meant but if the checkmark were supposed to be
there, then why can I not fin one for other devices that are recognized by
Vista on a clean install who have the green check mark. Vista recognizes an
Adaptec 2120s RAID controller. When you look that upin the HCL it has no
checkmark.
