Default Vista Complete Backup

Will Vista's "Complete Backup" require re-activation if restored onto the
same PC it was created on?

Quite possibly, but even if so, all it would take is a phone call to set
things to rights.

Not if no hardware has changed. I've restored Complete Backups to the
same hard drive on the same computer many times without re-activation
being required (because it is already activated).

Complete Backup actually 'clones' the hard drive so, No it shouldn't need
reactivating. While I don't use Complete Backup, I prefer to image my drive
using Acronis True Image, I have never had to activate after re-imaging my
drive and I re-image four time or more per year. There may be a need to
activate 'if' you cloned your original copy to another hard drive, but
certainly not to the same machine with the same hardware.
