very slow post in windows Vista Ultimate

I have a recent problem- 2 sata HDD are now showing as SCSI disks in the
device manager and I have an error in the USB controller showing a usb mass
storage device error. System works ok but takes about 7 minutes to post. I
am thinking a driver was installed in windows updates.

amd 3800 dual core
nforce 570 sli mcp
2 sata hdd 500 gb each
2 gig memory
