Default Is there a way to also install xp alonside vista?

I bought a new laptop which already came with vista business edition
pre-installed, with no original cd for vista installation. I discovered that
some of my old sofware do not work on vista, so I have to either switch back
to xp or see if I can have both vista and xp on the laptop at the same time.
Any suggestions?

two options. You can install XP on a separate partition (see this link:
http://apcmag.com/5485/dualbooting_vista_and_xp) or use a virtual machine
such as Microsoft's VPC 2007 (do a Google search for VPC 2007. It is free
from Microsoft). The only problem with VPC 2007 is it doesn't have USB
support. The only virtual machine I have used so far with USB support is
VMWare Workstation, however, this application you have to pay for.
