Default SP1 from T-Net dwnld) install causes insufferable slowness-what gi

I thought SP1 was supposed to inprove Vista's known slowness
I really hates the thought of having to reinstall/rebuild - any ideas why a
legit SP1 install would bring Vista to a nearly unbearable slowness - file
copying from physical drive to another physical drive, or over the local
net..doesn't matter, just excruciatinging slow...slower than it used to be,
which was plenty slow enough.

From your posts title you claim to have downloaded SP1 from "T-Net dwnld)" ,
since SP1 is not generally available to the public yet, what makes you
think that a download from a third party site was legitimate?
For all you know the download you have may be riddled with trojans, virus
and spyware. Maybe the slow file copy is every file being infected etc.

If you remove your "legitimate" SP1 which you can do do your problems go
away ?
If so maybe your best option is to continue to patch from Windows Update and
wait fore the legitimate general public release of SP1, whereby you can get
it via Windows Update where checks will be made to ensure certain driver
issues will not impact the SP1 install.

SP1 RC1 has been released to the general public and the RTM release of SP1
for several languages has occurred to the factory. OEM system builders and
TechNet subscribers.
It will be available to the public next month.
Also I assumed that T-Net dwnld refers to Microsoft TechNet, see the
following link:

If you haven't used the SP1 cleanup tool yet, you are still able to
uninstall the SP1 update. You could then try re-installing and see if the
same issues are present.

I did a clean reinstall of Vista ultimate. Then running nothing but
microsoft apps (Office 2007...)except for Realplayer10...I installed the
TechNet download of SP1. The PC appaers to be running normally; not fast,
but the 5-10 hour file transfers and deletes are gone. I'm going to add back
the non-MS apps one at a time and see what happens.
I am looking at the other SP1 discussion site and won't continue this here..
