Skype, Vista wont let me download...??!?!?! please.

ok, like i can download it as many times as i want, and i really need this to
work. It will let me download, but it never appears, or like shows up and i
cant find it when i search, and i think somethings wrong with my computer,
please help.

When you dowload it, where do you Save it to?
Have you tried saving the Skype .exe to your Desktop>double-click>install
from there?

Mick,
When I download Skype it doesn't appear anywhere on my computer even when
I search for the skypeinstall.exe.
It isn't in my desktop either.

The file name is SkypeSetup.exe
Are you getting it from the Skype site?
http://www.skype.com

Have you tried saving it to the Downloads folder under your login name?
When you open the folder where you downloaded it to, do you see a button on
the toolbar named "Compatibility Files"?
Are you using Internet Explorer 7 or Firefox? I was able to DL it using
both with no problems.

I downloaded Skype from skype.com today in Firefox 3. I found that there
is compatibility issues with Vista x64 so I downloaded the Beta 4
version. It works like a charm. You may find that when you download
files, they go directly to a download bin. To get here go
Start>(username)>Downloads. From here there is a folder full of all of
your downloaded content and you just need to look for the right file. I
hope this helps you
