SD CardNot Shownin My Computer

I have an SD card plugged in the slot on my laptop. When I turn it on
it shows up fine. If I pull the card and put in another it does not
show in my computer.
It DOES show in the device manager. Why would this be.
I have to do a restart every time I change the card.

Are you just pulling out the card or are you selecting "safely remove
hardware"?
If you want to do something before removing, right click the device icon and
select eject don't select safely remove since that actually removes the
reader.

The reader is not removed. It shows up in Device Manager and the card
show up in decvice manger when inserted, just not in my computer sdo I

I have a gateway laptop with a SD card reader built in and i upgraded my
system to the vista home premium....... Well when i put a card in there it
wont act like its doing anything, like it wont be in device manager or my
computer it just acts like nothin is happening.
