Default Restore error after clean install of Vista Ultimate (32bit)

I had to reinstall Vista Ultimate due to many issues.
I replaced my motherboard and processor along with a complete reformat of
the HDD.
After reinstalling I cannot "Restore" my backup made from Vista.
I have the image on my backup hard drive and I know the files are there (91GB)
I tried to restore files using all methods including "Advanced Restore from
a different computer". Nothing works. I need some critical files from work.
The error code is: 0x8100001A
Please tell me I can get these files back. I don't need everything due to
the clean install, just Outlook files and Favorites etc.
