I had Windows Vista Ultimate installed, and then, unfortunately, something (a
power surge, I think) basically fried my hard drive, so I bought a new one,
but when I attempt to activate my Windows Vista, it says that my product key
is already activated. I'm looking for a way to cancel my previous product key
registration to the dead hard drive and use it with my now hd.

Choose telephone activation and you will get the telephone number you need.
Call and explain your situation.
