Default Quick Launch bar changed but won't change back

My quick launch area was always on the left of the task bar, next to the
start menu.

While I was trying to add another program to the quick launch area I moved
the sizing handle to the right. I appear to have moved it too far to the
right and it disappeared. Now the Quick launch area is on the top of the
task bar with all the active tasks on the second row.

I can find no way to move it back to where it should be and I have no sizing
handle to move. I have moved the task bar to every side of the screen and
restarted the computer but nothing works.

It is very confusing with the quick start programs occupying just a small
part of the top row and active tasks all squashed into the second row.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Hi, Nimbus.

No, the sizing bar is still there. It's just very hard to find sometimes.

Hover your mouse over near the Notification Area (some of us still call it
the SysTray) until the double-headed arrow appears, then drag it back to
where it shows the right number of QL icons.

You MAY need to adjust the height of the Taskbar. Hover over the top edge
of the Taskbar until you get the up-down arrow, then drag it up or down to
make the Taskbar any number of rows high, even down to zero. Probably 2
rows will do for now. When you get the QL adjusted, you can put the Taskbar
back to a single row or whatever suits you.

It is also possible to move the Taskbar's sizing bar too far to the left, so
watch out for that possibility. If it happens, just use the usual tricks to
resize that, too.

Thanks.

The sizing bar between quick start and tasks was sitting in practically the
same place as the sizing bar between the start menu and where the quick start
bar used to be. I had to separate the two bars first then I could adjust it.

I'd had never have thought that it was still there by myself.

Thanks again.

Hi, Nimbus.

You're welcome. And thanks for the feedback. That ought to be useful for
the next reader with a similar problem.
