Full Version Vista Ultimate OS stops 10 minutes in and asks "Please insert
the driver disc" Which driver I ask myself, wow....any given motherboard may
have upwards of 20 different drivers (Not including Video card, etc.)
depending on how hard the manufacturer worked on compatibility? So I have an
ECS Elite Group G33T-M2 Windows Vista Certified motherboard. So I spend
considerable time downloading every driver I can find but, can not bypass or
continue with the installation of the OS? The “next” button is grayed out
unless all drivers are located. But wait, to make it better Vista does NOT
ask me what general basic drivers I’m to go looking for? After hours of
frustration and the only option is to quit the installation, I don’t know
where to go.
It is probably asking for SATA Drivers for your HDD.

I am not sure. it does not tell me what it is looking for. When I select
browes it sees the HD. My guess was it was not seeing the DVD drive, yet the
install boots from it. but I dod not see the dvd rom when i select the browse
button.

Hi Tom,
You might look in Device Manager and see if you have a device showing a
problem. If you do, then reinstall the driver for that one.
Hope this helps,
Shawn

If you have a SATA HDD and did not choose to set it to ATA compatibility
mode in the BIOS, you will need the SATA drivers. Every other piece of
hardware can function, even in a limited manner (video) with the Vista
drivers. Only the SATA HD (if present) needs drivers installed.
