I am just a young college student. I don't know much about computers, so any
advice given to me will need to be in terms that I will understand!! My
system is "Windows Vist Home Premium AMD turion 64 X2, 960 MB RAM, NVIDIA
GeForce Go 6150"...
My computer health check always says I need to download the current thing of
NVIDIA, which it gives me the link for and says it is an essential download,
but then it will not download it, and it will not go away and remains a
"critical" pc update needed... which drives me crazy.
My HP Update also scans my computer and recognizes that I need NVIDIA
GeForce Go 6150 Grapics Driver, but then it will go through downloading the
installation package, and then when the setup initiates it says that I do not
have the operating system windows vista.
#1 Do i have this NVIDIA GeForce Go 6150 Graphics Driver as my welcome
center in my control panel states, or don't I?
#2 if I don't have it, how do I get it
#3 if I do have it, how do I make it stop coming up in my PC Health Check as
a critical thing, and stop coming up on my HP Update??? it drives me crazy.

Thank you for trying to help but your solution did not work. I thought it
did, because I saved it to my desktop and ran it, and usually it tells me
right away I do not have Vista. This time, it actually ran the installation
process all the way through, and had to "overwrite" all of the files because
it said they were already on here. I then had to restart my computer when it
finished. When I turned it back on, it still comes up on the HP Total Care
Advisor that NVIDIA GeForce Go 6150 Graphics Driver is a critical update that
I need.
I just dont understand.

If you are, run msconfig from the search line and disable the various parts
of it on the startup and services tab. Then reboot and retry installing the
video driver.

#1 I have CA Security Center, I don't really know... it is something my
uncle put on the computer like 6 months ago when I got my laptop
#2 I don't even know what "run msconfig from the search line and disable the
various parts of it on the startup and services tab. Then reboot and retry
installing the video driver" means to do.

Ok, CA does not have the bad track record that Symantect does.
On #2, I meant to click start and type "msconfig" into the search line and
hit <enter>. This will bring up the system configuration utility where you
can adjust what loads at boot.
You might want to try using the free Windows Update support. The link to
contact a professional is on the right here: http://support.microsoft.com/gp/wupd
