Default New Build, Loading OS.. Help?

OK, so I've probably posted a few things with my build stats listed.. So
I'll leave it short. my question tho:

I've just finished a new build.. Getting ready to install OS.. and my
question is what should I have my system set for Master.. I have ONE
ASUS 20x SATA DVD drive.
and one Seagate Cuda 500GB 32mb cache HD. they are Both SATA.. what one
should be set at the master SATA port?? the HD or DVD drive??

Also when in Bios.. what should be Set to master there also. Like
should I set in the Bios for it to have the DVD drive be First.. becuase
it will be loading the OS fron the disk. or should I have the HD first..
I'm just not to sure about the order.. Let me kno..

I'm appreciate some input..

Thanks in Advanced.

/Cory

There is a difference between Master/Slave drive configuration and Boot Order!

You always want your Hard drive where you install Vista to be the Master
drive.

But, to install the operating system, you go into BIOS, and change the BOOT
ORDER to make the CD/DVD Drive 1st n the BOOT ORDER.

Have the DVD in the Drive, reboot, and follow instructions to install vista.

oh i got ya, so it's not just about master/slave.. It's boot order.

So I set the HD to be the master.. and then I go into the BIOS when I
first start my system and Change the Boot Order for CD/DVD Drive to Boot
first.. Then save & Exit.

Upon restart it will load from the disk and Hopfully is all good from
there..

Cool, Thats all I needed to kno.

Thank You Sir!
