My computer restarts after I shut it down

A new acer aspire 9800 with Vista Home.
I shut it down and within 5 or 10 minutes it starts up again, same thing if
I shut down the lid,
it should shut down outomatic but same thing, it starts up again.

Someone who knows what to do, reinstalling does not help..

1. Have to had a look in your Power options?

2. Nothing in Task Scheduler to kick it back on?

Hi HGee,

How do you connect your machine to the Internet? Disconnect completely (if
you have the network icon displayed in the system tray area on the right-hand
side of the task bar, it should have a red cross on it when disconnected).
Once you have done that, try shutting your machine down again. If it stays
shut down, then you have found the cause of your problem. To solve this, you
will need to alter some settings in your BIOS - specifically you are looking
for the following options: wake on mouse/keyboard and wake on lan (WOL). I
suspect that it is the latter setting that you are looking for, and you need
to set this to DISABLED. Check your manual for instructions on accessing the
BIOS in your machine.
