Default motherboard compatibility ?

helo ,
i need your help on a problem with "windows vista" installation . my
motherboard is elite (ECS) RC410L/800-M v2.0
for first time i tried to install on that m/b "windows vista".
i could not walk through instalation because after the first file copy of
instalation from the dvd , the system stoped with the error code that
indicated that there is a hardware faillure.
note that using my WINDOWS XP with this computer (WORKS JUST FINE), i run
the " vista upgrade advisor" which the results were succesfull and i got only
the suggestion/warninig that i will need drivers for the "realtek audio
device (on board)"
so i unpluged "EVERYTHING !!" from the motherboard and i left my CPU (Intel
Intel(R) Pentium(R) D CPU 2.66GHz 2667.0),my PCI express video card (NVIDIA
GeForce 7300 GS) my 1 (of the two) 1GB ddr ram chips , keybord , mouse , and
a IDE hard disk.
(the video card and the Hard disk have been used in the past on an other
computer with "windows vista" and had worked fine).
so i left on the board only what i needed to start the computer and only
the hard disk and video adapter had run in the past widows vista(from ALL the
other parts remained on the computer) .i tried various things like changing
the ram chips , leavig only one , i changed my display also to the - on board
ATI video adapter , but nothing hapend . i always got the blue screen with
the message :
stop , 0X0000005c ( 0X0000010B , 0X00000003 ....)
thats why i am asking if there is a known issue about that motherboard and
windows vista , if it is not compatible or not , has it passed any tests with
vista , do i have to check something on BIOS or update it?

hi THERAFYS,

I've got exactly the same problem with installing Windows Vista. after
copying the initial-drivers there is a blue-screen with

***Stop: 0X0000005C (0X0000010B, 0X00000003, 0X00000000, 0X00000000)

as it looks this motherboard (RC410L/800-M (v.2)) isn't compatible with
Vista.

ecs sells this board as: certified for windows XP.

someone out there who knows to fix the problem? (bios update, change
settings in bios)

bios : AMI BIOS V. 050606

seems that we have to raise "DIMM Voltage Adjust Function" to [+150mV]

(problem with 2 memory-sticks)

same problem seen here:

'memory problems with RC410L/800-M (V2.0)' (http://tinyurl.com/24hshu)

STRIKE!

solved that fu**in' bastard hehe !

write down your BIOS-SETTINGS first!

then go to 'ECS Web Site' (http://tinyurl.com/28h6an)

and klick on STD-8110.ROM (at the end of the posting)

that's the right BIOS-UPDATE for VISTA (can't get it anywhere else)

then download awflash tool:

here: http://tinyurl.com/yrcb87

and read instructions exactly!!!

here:

'How to use AMI Flash Utility'

if you restart after flashing ... boot-up dialog says: "wrong
checksum"

no problem! enter "F1" and do the settings in BIOS as they was before

flashing it. AND GO TO "Advanced Setup" -> "Dimm Voltage Adjust
Function"

and set it to [+150mv]

also you have to enable ACPI.

then save with "F10" and exit to restart.

have fun ;-)

IMPORTANT!!!!

if you flash out of windows you should deactivate all security
programms before

(antivirus,firewalls .. etc.)
