Default mass storage controller problems when installing

I've been trying to install vista home basic 64-bit version on my new pc.
After starting the install i reach a window "select a driver to install".
i've tried looking for the correct driver to go onto the next stage of
installation but i cant find it anywhere.
after seaching the cd that came with my motherboard and finding some files
that were identified as drivers and selecting them and pressing next. it then
reaches the window in which you select the drive on which to install windows.
the hard drive isnt visable and a notification says no drivers where found.

Which driver do i need to get past this?
thanks

Motherboard: Asus p5k-e wifi/ap
CPU: intel core 2 duo
Hard Disk: seagate baracuda 500gb

Ben, don't dispair, your problem is exactly the same as mine.
Does your video card also possesses the nVidia controller?
