Default Lost Audio at upgrade,Home Prem. to Ultimate on Acer laptop

On an Acer Aspire9813WKMi with Vista Home Premium(Spanish) I used the
"Upgrade Anytime" cd and upgraded to Ultimate, so I could change the display
language to English. The upgrade process was followed and was successful,
EXCEPT I now have no audio at all. Drivers appear to be up to date in device
mgr .for Sound,Video, game controllers/High definition Audio Device. I assume
this is my sound card. I noticed my Multi media Controller has no driver and
status is nonoperational, using no resources, no driver installed, Code 28.
How do I get sound back please? Thanks.
