Default Intermittent Lockups in Vista.

Hi, just wondering if someone can provide a solution (or diagnostic tips) for
the following problem.

I've done a fresh install of Vista (Ultimate), applied all updates, etc. So
basically a pretty standard install (nothing special). I'm experiencing
intermitten lock-ups of the system. Everything freezes (ie. open windows will
display as not-responding). The lockups will last anywhere from 20 secs to 1
minute and then the system will return to normal. This might happen every
half hour or so, but varies sometimes it's more regular. (can't see a
pattern).

To me this sounds like a timeout of some sort. I'm pretty sure it's not
hardware related bucause this is a rebuild of a machine that was working fine
with a previous install of vista. So no hardware has changed. I guess it's
always possible that it's a driver issue, however, I"ve installed the latest
drivers for my Video Card (NVidia 8800GTS), TV Tuner card (LeadTek DV2000H).
The vista didn't have any problems finding any other drivers.

Checking the Event Log I see the following event from when the lockups happen.
