Easy Trasnfer

I have unsuccessfully tried 6-8 times to transfer the files and data from my
old WIN XP based laptop to my new VISTA based laptop, using a Belkin cable
and the accompanying software.

I have received numerous error messages, most recently the following:
DOCUMENTS~1/User/Local!1/Temp/8f58_appscompat.txt

The transfer process sis begin at one point, but then I got an error that
said Access Denied.

I am not attempting to transfer any programs, only files and settings.

I'm out of ideas...has anyone encountered and resolved this issue?

It looks like that Easy Transfer is getting stuck on some temporary files.

Try deleting all the files under your temp folder
(DOCUMENTS~1/User/Local!1/Temp) and it should work.
