BSOD while installing Vista Ultimate

Hi,

My PC configuration is Intel D945 GNT motherboard, P4 2.66 GHz, 250 GB Hard
Disk, 1.5 Gb DDR2 RAM, Intel GMA 950, and Windows XP Pro installed. While
installing Vista ultimate, I get a blue screen at the time of completing
installation. It restarts and gives the error message that "windows
restarted unexpectedly while installation ................ press ok to
restart" . Even tough I press ok and restart the PC it comes to the same
stage. I also have a creative sound blaster live sound card and a mercury tv
tuner card. I tried to install vista after removing the tv tuner card, but
even after removing I get the same error. Can anyone troubleshoot the issue ?

Hi,

Try removing the sound card, and any other unnecessary peripherals and
add-on cards as well.

Thanks Rick....I will try to install again and let you know...

But I would like to know since I have Windows XP installed and its not yet
activated..whether thats creating the blue screen and also whether GMA 950 is
causing that ?

Hi Basu,

Simply having an unactivated XP would not cause a blue screen. BSOD's are
caused chiefly by hardware errors or the drivers supporting them.
