Default Activation error

I have got a Window Vista Premium Home but when I activated it , it didn't
work and announced:

"the following failure occured when trying to use the product key

Code:
0xC004P061

description: this software lisensing service determined that this specified
product key can only be used for upgrading, not for clean instalations"

Could you tell me what I should do now?

Regards

Please explain the procedure you followed to install
your upgrade version of Windows Vista on your computer.
With an upgrade version of Vista, the qualifying older
Windows operating system must be presently installed
and the upgrade started while booted to the Desktop.

Hi Ken,

If you did a clean install with this disk without using the Product Key
rather than a true upgrade from within a qualifying system then you get to
do one of the following:

a) Install it again as an upgrade to the clean install this time using the
Product Key during setup (this is the commonly reported method of bypassing
the need to start from within a qualifying OS, the downside of this is that
you get to install it twice).

b) Start from scratch by installing the the qualifying OS, then upgrading
it.

If the key you received with your disk was supposed to be a full version,
then you need to contact the seller as that isn't what you got.
