Default Please Recommend a Video Card That Works With a SyncMaster 245BW Widescreen Monitor

I recently bought a Samsung SyncMaster 245BW widescreen LCD monitor.
Its native resolution is 1920x1200, but with my GeForce FX 5500 video
card I am unable to configure this resolution if I use a DVI cable - I
am forced to use an analog VGA cable to get the maximum resolution. I
did some research, and it appears this is a known issue affecting
multiple nVidia models with no fix (at least under Windows XP):

Since my video card is a couple years old, I'm leaning towards
replacing it. The question is, with what? Hence my question to you:

If you have a SyncMaster 245BW, and are currently running it at
1920x1200 resolution in Windows XP using a DVI cable (NOT a VGA
cable), would you please tell me which video card you have and which
driver version you are using?

Thanks very much!

Why not call nVidia and ask them if you should replace a badly designed
nVidia card with a well designed ATI card and dump the bad nVidia on EBAY
to dilute their market. Maybe they will recommend a better nVidia card
to avoid the bad publicity. Be sure to ask about trade-in credits to keep
the old card off the market.

I don't have time to hassle with all that. However, I will be dumping
my old card on eBay.

I ended up buying an ATI Radeon 2600 HD card. Right out of the box it
works great at 1920x1200 over DVI - no tweeking of settings, no
hunting for newer drivers, it just WORKS like it's supposed to.
