Dell 19 inch LCD and HP nx7400 laptop flicker problem

Hi all,

I have a HP compaq nx7400 laptop with mobile intel 945GM 256 shared
graphics card. I have a dell 19inch lcd monitor brand new. I have the
grapics card setup to 1440x900 32bit 75hz (the highest possible) but
the screen flickers at all times and it is vissible in the right hand
corner and especially with dark bacgrounds. I have tried everything
from changing resolutions changing it to 60hz and nothing have hepled
or give a watchable resolution.

Does anyone know what am I doing wrong? please help
