Default Getting 'Keyboard Customizer Utility' to work w/ external PS2 keyboard

I want to access the audio volume control (green on-screen display) through
my external IBM PS2 keyboard when my Thinkpad T20 is docked (i.e. lid
closed). So I downloaded and installed the 'Keyboard Customizer Utility',
but had a hard time getting it to work and found many companions in distress
on the internet...

The culprit: under 'Options' » 'Automatically disable external keyboard
assignments when a USB keyboard is removed' is ENABLED (checked) by default.

I.e.: this utility will NOT WORK BY DEFAULT (sic!) for anyone using an
external PS2 keyboard..., because there is no USB keyboard.

Solution: UNcheck the option mentioned above and it works like a charm! At
least for me...

Hope this helps!
