Default volume capacity array 6140

Hi, have a T2000 and a storage array 6140 with 16*500gb sata drives.
Can volume sizes be setup larger than 2tb (1.988gb), is it a limit ?

If you already have the stuff direct attached,
why not just create a single volume and try newfs -T /dev/rdsk/...?

or zfs create for that matter. It would be easier with ZFS for sure : >

I think you might need version 7.* of the 6140 firmware to create a volume
more than 2TB. I don't know for sure, since I haven't tried. (I do have
an open ticket with Sun about the 6.* firmware freaking out with CAM...)

This is a limit of the firmware.

I sent detailed instructions on how to avoid this limit to your e-mail
address.

it is actually the array that wont create a volume larger, not newfs or
such.
and of course one can make 2TB + 2TB + 1.5TB to a zfs pool.

I have access to a 6140 - the 2 TB limit may apply at a later date - I'd
better check its firmware level : >
