Default sun keyboards

Hi,

I have just deployed 3 new SunRay2 with type 7 keyboards(320-1360-02),
the new keyboards however do "powerdown" or similar after a few hours,
causing the user to must disconnect the keyboard and reconnect it to get
it working.

I have changed to older type 7 keyboards (320-1360-01) then it runs fine
so it seams to be keyboard related.

Anyone having the same problems?

BTW this has been filed to Sun but no respons so far.

/michael

What firmware are these units running?

This is probably CR 6501834. It should be resolved for Sun Ray by
the fix for CR 6519512 which is included in the firmware delivered
by the latest patches for SRSS 3.1, 3.1.1 and 2.0. The 3.0 patch is
in progress, if you need the fix on a 3.0 server you can grab the
firmware from any of the other patches, they all deliver the same
images.

The firmware with the fix should identify itself as
"3.1_120879-06_2007.03.13.15.14". If your servers have the
latest patch but the units aren't running this firmware then make
sure that you've followed the firmware promotion instructions in
the patch README.

Excellent, I will apply the latest patch.

So the keyboards should all run fine on a WS, only SunRay are affected?

I wouldn't say that!

On a Sun Blade 100 with OBP 4.6 the keyboard was not recognized at all.
However, on the same machine upgraded to the latest 4.17.1 it worked like a
champ.

So if you have the latest OBP on your workstation it should be fine, but
otherwise may not.
I think I remember reading 4.16 is the min for most 4.x OBPs to fully
support the Type-7 keyboard.
