Default Is this a standard ribbon cable?

Bought one of these cheap ide 2 usb adapters.

It works, but the cheap ribbon cable they sent me broke in two days (only 2
inches long). It appears to be a standard ribbon hard drive cable. Female
connector at one end connects to any hard drive and male connector at other
end connects to usb2ide adapter device. Pix of adapter is at url below. Do
not have pix of ribbon cable, but looks like any hard drive cable.

I don't want to deal mail order any more, can I buy a replacement for the
cable at most geek computer stores?

Just plug the adapter directly into the drive, that short cable is
just an extension.

So no, it's not just any harddrive cable.
