Default much diff sata vs pata dvd burners ??

Saw some LG sata dvd burners & wonder if there were much diff
between the sata & pata connector types other that satisfying
m# desire to get away from "legacy" ide ports.

Getting closer to update time for my msi pro2-a; & probably
new harddrive & possibly new cd/dvd burner.

Its actually about motherboards having few pata ports
and it being easier to provide just sata ports in future.

Not much difference; there can be snags on bios support; some
motherboards I've seen only supported booting off sata *harddisks*, and
needed a bios update to accept sata dvd:s, unless you had an old pata
dvd/cdrom drive to install your o/s from.
