Default EMC SAN storage

Hi all,

I am using EMC CX3-40 + Red Hat Enterprise 4 + Veritas Cluster Service 5 +
VxVM + Naviphere 6
A Raid Group with LUN is configured by engineer before. Moreover, rhere are
free SAN disks in EMC,
how can I use these free SAN disk and create a mount point in VCS.
E.g. am I need to create another RAID group (how?), create a new LUN (how?)
how to add to cluster with VxVM and VCS?

Thanks for your kindly help!

Are the drives actually free, or have they been configured as hot spares for
your existing raid array?

If they actually are spare, you will need to login to navisphere, create a
new raid group using the spare drives, define a LUN on that array, then
present it to your existing storage group. All of this can be done from
within the navisphere UI. I don't have one in front of me, but it's pretty
self explanatory once you've logged in.

Once that's done, a simple SAN rescan on each of your hosts should show up
the new capacity.
