Hi people, I have a computer that was working very well, but lately when I
was working on a important project, there was a power fluctuation for a
couple of times (I thought that was normal) but after the last power
fluctuation my computer refused to boot up. There seems to be a failure of
some kind…..but I need to get the projects back that are still in that disk.
I would be thankful if you could suggest any good tools to get the files and
documents back.

1. Step: Mount the disk in an other computer as second disk and
see whether you can access it. The power problem may have
killed something else.
2. Step: If the disk is not readable or detected, time to
shop arounf for professional data recovery.

The best way to do that is to use your backups.
Thats by far the best tool for that situation.
If you havent got any backups, and those projects and files
are important, the safest approach is professional recovery.
If those projects and files dont warrant that, Easy Recovery Pro
does a very decent job, but it aint cheap if you have to pay for it.

Step 1 is to remove the hard disk.
Do you have a second computer? Attach
the hard disk to that computer. Copy the data out.
With the hard disk removed, find out what hardware
problem your PC is having. Only after you solved
the mystery should you attach the old hard disk
back.
I think you need to ask your friend to help you
given you asked this question. Just make sure
that your friend is really good.
